Glossary of collocations (First Check)


  1. To sit, to take, to give an exam
  2. To make a decision
  3. To draw, to reach, to come to a decision
  4. A sea change: a profound or notable transformation.
  5. To commute to (a place): to travel some distance between one´s home and place of work on a regular basis.
  6. Commute time: the time it takes to commute from one place and another.
  7. A longtime resident: someone who has lived in a place for a long time.
  8. Affordable housing: low-cost housing, housing that has been subsidized for low in-income people (viviendas sociales).
  9.  To prompt (somebody) to do something: to encourage that person.
  10. To make a call: to make a decision.
  11. A tough call: a difficult decision.
  12. To bring sth to the forefront: to emphasize something or make it more noticeable.
  13. To show up: to appear.
